After sunbathing losions.

Hello, my lovely readers.

Yesterday I had my first sunbath in 2016 and I must say it turned out really well...I'm now red as a crab. Probably, one of the reasons is that I never use sunbathing creams,I like to get my skin brown.

But I can't imagine summer without AFTER sunbathing creams. It just feels like my skin needs ''a drink''. So I was interested in searching a little information about these after sunbathing lotions. Are they really that good and are they actually doing what they need to do?! Let's find out.

After-sun lotions and gels are key in helping to rehydrate the skin to assist in the repairing process as they seal in moisture says Dr. Arien Ostad. Products with aloe vera are good at assisting in skin repair and many can alleviate the pain of a sunburn as they have soothing and cooling properties. So it means that these lotions can make a difference.

Dr. Ostad suggests applying products for relief immediately after sun exposure, and then again up to three times a day.

Lat year I bought ''Sun Ozon'' after-sun lotion. The thing I don't like about this is that in the ingredients you can find alcohol in it, which I think is not the best for my sensitive skin. The best is probably to choose something natural like Nivea. Also, if you have extra sensitive skin after sunbathing don't be shy to buy kid lotions. We all know how good they smell and how perfect our skin feels after it.

Top 5 after sun lotions that people say are the best ones :
  • Dr. Organic Alove vera gel -   Double strength and hypoallergenic, this inexpensive aloe vera gel are instantly cooling and immediately reduces irritation in the sun-stressed skin.

  • Vichy Ideal soleit double usage after-sun -   Rich in nutritious vitamin E and omega-3 and -6 oils ( from shea, apricot kernel, coriander seed and black currant seed oils.) this will nourish and soften skin for up to 48 hours,

  • Garnier Amber Solaire Aftersun tan maintainer - With a low-level tanning - agent, this not only hydrates and soothes sun-kissed skin but also subtly enhances and deepens your tan.

  • Nivea Sun In- Shower Refreshing After Sun Lotion - This amazing time-saver is applied in the shower after shower gel and is absorbed surprisingly fast by a wet skin .

  • Hawaiian Tropic Aftersun ultra radiance - It leaves a luminous radiant glow on softened limbs and decollete. The new fruity mango fragrance is the scent of holidays.

After sun gels, sprays, creams or lotions?

So doing a little research I found out that, of course, we can choose between much different after sun products. But which one is the best? It's definitely your own choice, but let's look at some pros and cons.

After sun Lotions :
  • Pros - allows you to apply to skin in thicker amounts, more variety.
  • Cons - takes a while to sink in the skin.

After sun Gels:
  • Pros - quick acting, instant relief.
  • Cons - used only after sunburn occurred.

After sun Sprays-
  • Pros- easy to apply, easy for kids, sinks into the skin fast, allows reaching every place in the body.
  • Cons - hard to tell if you applied it to the affected area.

So turns out you can choose the best one for your skin and lifestyle. Or just try different ones and then see which one you like the best.

So basically this is all I could find about these. Honestly, I think if you don't have an  aftersun lotion you can use your everyday body butter or cream.

I hope you enjoyed my post and let's wait the real summer to get our skins tanned.

All the love. Annie xx
